RN-LED SUPPORT AFTER THE NICU
Newborn Support After the NICU
Bringing your baby home after a NICU stay can be a milestone filled with both relief and new questions. Our experienced Registered Nurses provide thoughtful overnight newborn care at home, helping families transition from the highly supported NICU environment while creating more space for rest, reassurance, and confidence.

THE TRANSITION HOME
Coming Home Can Feel Different After the NICU
After days or weeks of having nurses nearby, monitors providing constant information, and a care team available around the clock, home can suddenly feel very quiet. Many parents are thrilled to finally bring their baby home while also adjusting to being responsible for their baby's care without the same level of immediate support.
The goal isn't to recreate the NICU at home. It's to help your family feel supported as you settle into caring for your baby in your own space.

FROM HOSPITAL TO HOME
Experienced Support Without Recreating the Hospital
For many NICU parents, bringing baby home means learning to trust a new environment without monitors, alarms, or a care team just steps away. Having an experienced RN in your home overnight can provide an additional layer of reassurance during that adjustment.
Our overnight newborn care is not a replacement for your pediatrician, specialist, home health provider, or medically necessary skilled nursing. We provide non-acute newborn support after discharge and follow the care guidance established by your baby's healthcare team.
Postpartum Network provides private, RN-led overnight newborn support for families throughout Clarksville, Nashville, Franklin, and surrounding Middle Tennessee communities.

QUESTIONS AFTER A NICU STAY
Frequently Asked Questions
Bringing your baby home after the NICU can come with questions that feel different from the typical newborn experience. Here are a few things families often want to know.
Can you provide overnight care after my baby is discharged from the NICU? Potentially, yes. We provide non-acute overnight newborn care after a baby has been discharged home. During your consultation, we'll learn more about your baby's current needs and discharge guidance to determine whether our service is an appropriate fit for your family.
Do you replace home health or private-duty nursing? No. Postpartum Network's overnight newborn care does not replace medically necessary home health, private-duty nursing, pediatric care, or specialist follow-up. Families whose babies require skilled medical care at home should work with their healthcare team and the appropriate medical provider.
Will you follow our baby's NICU discharge instructions? We ask families to share relevant discharge guidance and established care routines before services begin. Our RNs provide newborn care within the scope of our service while respecting the guidance established by your baby's healthcare team.
Can you support our baby's feeding plan? Our RNs can support an established feeding plan that is appropriate within the scope of our overnight newborn care service. When specialized feeding, lactation, or medical support is needed, families should continue working with the appropriate healthcare professional.
What if my baby has ongoing medical needs? We'll discuss your baby's current needs during the consultation before determining whether Postpartum Network's overnight newborn care is appropriate. Babies requiring medically necessary skilled nursing, monitoring, or treatment should receive those services through the appropriate healthcare provider.
When should we contact you about support after the NICU? You can reach out while your baby is still in the NICU to begin discussing your anticipated needs. Because discharge timing and care needs can change, we'll work with you to determine next steps once more is known about your baby's transition home.
